Built in 2008, the Rinker 226 R1 is the wakeboarding edition of their 226 SE model. At almost 7.2m long and with 2.6m beam, the R1 is a great handling, well balanced sports boat. She is licensed to carry 10 passengers in comfort. The bow seating features integrated back and arm rests, the wraparound rear settee covers the entire width of the boat and connects directly to the oversized sun pad, providing plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. An additional filler cushion adds even more space and can be tilted up to make a reclining sunpad.
Designed as a wakeboarding boat, the Rinker 226 R1 has storage compartments both underneath the seats for lifejackets, towels etc., and large in-floor compartment and transom locker for wakeboards and gear. She was built with a wakeboarding tower with integrated speakers, and can easily be fitted with carriers to hang more boards.
Opening up the engine bay provides excellent access to the Mercruiser 5.0L MPI V8 motor, batteries, battery switch and a very large area perfect for a large storage contained for floats, inflatables etc.
With a shallow draft of only 0.9m with the drive fully down, she is perfect for exploring the southern islands including Pulau Hantu and Jong, as well as the usual Lazarus and St John’s.
The current owner has spent a lot of time and money on upgrades and maintenance:
- In September 2021 she received a full repaint of the hull (no damage, just to improve the faded paint) by DP Yachts in Punggol.
- In early 2022 the engine had a full overhaul and rebuild by Heinrich Engineering, local Mercruiser and Volvo technicians. This included new manifolds, elbows, exhausts, starter motor, sensors, pistons, pulleys, gaskets, fluid & filters.
Her owner has fastidiously maintained the engine and drive, having also recently replaced some hydraulic hoses on the Mercruiser Alpha One Stern Drive.
She is currently dry-berthed in Republic of Singapore Yacht Club. The berth is transferrable to the new owner, subject to membership, or can be delivered to a new berth of your choice.
