Happy Eva is a 2013 Fountaine Pajot Mahé 36 offering a practical three-cabin layout, shallow draft and manageable dimensions for couples or families looking for a cruising catamaran in Southeast Asia.

At 11.0m overall with a 5.9m beam, the Mahé 36 delivers the space and stability expected from a Fountaine Pajot catamaran without the additional size and running costs of a larger multihull. Accommodation comprises three double cabins with six berths, together with a head and shower, comfortable saloon and well-equipped galley.

A significant feature of Happy Eva is her propulsion. She is powered by twin BETA Marine 30HP diesels with saildrives. Both engines were fully rebuilt and installed aboard the yacht in 2023 and currently have approximately 2,300 running hours.

Currently located at Yacht Haven Marina in Phuket, Happy Eva is already positioned in one of Southeast Asia’s most popular cruising grounds.

Twin BETA Marine 30HP Diesels

Power comes from twin BETA Marine 30HP diesel engines with saildrives, providing the manoeuvrability and redundancy that make a twin-engined catamaran particularly practical for cruising.

Both engines were fully rebuilt and installed in 2023 and have approximately 2,300 hours. Under power, Happy Eva cruises at approximately 7 knots.

With relatively compact dimensions, twin engines and a shallow 1.1m draft, she is well suited to exploring the islands, bays and anchorages found throughout Thailand and Malaysia.

Three-Cabin Cruising Layout

Happy Eva has a practical three-cabin, six-berth layout, providing considerably more privacy than an open-plan monohull of comparable length.

Two double cabins are located in the port hull, with a third double cabin in the starboard hull. A head with shower is positioned forward in the starboard hull.

The saloon sits between the two hulls and connects naturally with the cockpit, creating a sociable central living area while keeping the sleeping accommodation separate.

With 530 litres of freshwater capacity and 210 litres of fuel, the layout and onboard systems are well suited to coastal and regional cruising.

Galley & Cockpit Living

The galley is equipped with a three-burner gas stove, oven and grill, refrigerator and double stainless-steel sinks, providing a practical setup for owners spending extended periods aboard.

Outside, the cockpit becomes the main living area in tropical conditions, with a hardtop and bimini providing shade and protection from the weather.

A gas BBQ in the cockpit adds another useful cooking option and keeps meal preparation outdoors when enjoying an anchorage.

Cruising & Navigation Equipment

Happy Eva is equipped for cruising with GPS/chartplotter, autopilot, AIS, VHF and fishfinder, together with an electric anchor windlass.

Solar power provides supplementary charging while away from the marina, complemented by shore power when alongside.

Shallow-Draft Fountaine Pajot Catamaran

One of the advantages of the Mahé 36 is her 1.1m draft, opening up shallow anchorages that are inaccessible to many conventional sailing yachts.

Her 5.9m beam provides the stability and interior volume expected from a cruising catamaran, while her 11.0m overall length keeps marina requirements, maintenance and general handling more manageable than larger cruising cats.

Happy Eva was last hauled out and antifouled in 2024. She presents in good overall condition for her age, with some minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with an established cruising yacht.
